MORNING LIGHT
Luz da manhã fecha um círculo de três curtas metragens de Cláudia Varejão sobre o (des)encontro em família. Onde nem sempre os caminhos coincidem e as rupturas inesperadas não são necessariamente resultado de uma falha. O quotidiano oculta forças maiores e silenciosas. E o seu entendimento apresenta-se muitas vezes como uma tarefa demasiado violenta ou até, inútil. Seja qual fôr o olhar que se permite viver, a transcendência das relações humanas estará sempre lá, frontal, inabalável e bruta. Luz da manhã aproxima-se da distância entre três gerações, mãe, filha e neta. Num denso rio que as une, sem motivo aparente para além da exaustão, uma fenda emerge.
Morning Light closes a circle of three short films by Cláudia Varejão on family (dis)encounters, where the roads do not always coincide and unexpected disruptions are not necessarily the result of a failure. Everyday life hides larger and quieter forces and their understanding is often presented as a task too violent or even useless. Whatever the look that is allowed to live, the transcendence of human relations will always be there, front, unwavering and gross. Morning Light approaches the distance between three generations – mother, daughter and granddaughter. In a dense river that unites them, for no apparent reason other than exhaustion, a fissure emerges.
